Holly Springs pairs small-town traditions with a new economy: large biotech manufacturing campuses, including Amgen's and Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies', now sit at the edge of town.
Its outdoor life centers on Bass Lake Park, with fishing, boat rentals, a two-mile trail around the lake and a nature center. Next door, the 117 acres of pastures and woods at Sugg Farm host HollyFest and other big town events. The Holly Springs Salamanders play summer collegiate baseball at the North Main Athletic Complex, and a growing network of greenways ties neighborhoods together.
The Holly Springs Cultural Center has a 184-seat theater and an outdoor stage, and the year-round farmers market outside it was named the best in North Carolina in American Farmland Trust's 2019 market celebration. Downtown, older storefronts and new restaurants share the same few blocks.
