About Fuquay-Varina
Fuquay-Varina is two towns in one, and it shows. Fuquay Springs and Varina merged in 1963, and each still has its own historic downtown with its own character.
Fuquay's grew up around a mineral spring whose water drew thousands of visitors a year in the early 1900s. The spring, now under a gazebo in Fuquay Mineral Spring Park, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the town's history museums sit nearby. The Fuquay-Varina Arts Center, opened in 2019, runs a mural art walk across town and a yearly film festival, and Aviator Brewing, which started in an airplane hangar here, is a local favorite.
The town's parks cover more than 300 acres of fields, playgrounds, shelters and greenways, and the town's Independence Day celebration each July 3 brings live music and fireworks. It's an easy drive to Raleigh, Holly Springs and the farmland of southern Wake County.
